This photo is a big achievement! Until recently it was known again about the existence of jaguars in this National Park by direct sighting that two park guards had and the presence of footprints, but this is the first evidence in a photo! Piedras Blancas National Park is extremely important to maintain the viability of the population of jaguars in the Osa Peninsula, because it is important to verify that there is still connectivity between Piedras Blancas National Park and Corcovado National Park. Thanks very much to Rainforest of the Austrians, Esquinas Rainforest Lodge (especially Catalina Torres and Fernando Barrantes) and Javier Mateo-Vega for believing in our work and give us all their support!! Also to O2 for Life for the transportation of the cameras for the big study that we will start soon in this National Park and to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge for purchasing their own cameras traps!!
